Temporary Cessation of Dog Walking

Posted on Mar 21, 2020

In the light of the latest government announcement I feel that the time is right (not for the dogs) to temporarily suspend voluntary dog walking.

Several of our dogs are going out to foster homes over the next few days, four are being viewed with a view to adoption and two others have their Gotcha Days tomorrow. 💗 These appointments will all go ahead.

We have a handful of dog walkers that walk our long-term/large/ difficult dogs and we welcome these volunteers to continue.

By taking these steps we are hoping to lessen the traffic of visitors which will allow substantial social distancing on the premises.

I know many of you will be worried for the welfare of the dogs but bear in mind we have the large secure paddock, a large field and a smaller fenced off paddock as well as three secure exercise yards all available to our dogs from dawn till dusk. As a lot of our dogs get on well together and as the weather warms up a touch the dogs will be allowed longer amounts of ‘time out’ of their kennels.

Can I just take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for your hard work and loyal support to our cause. The dogs are going to miss you desperately and so are we, but we will have one hell of a summer party when we are given the green light by the government to do so. 🎉

Much love, take care of each other, one and all. Maggie & team xx

To our young kennel volunteers (excluding DofE), who help with kennel cleaning duties, we would still very much welcome and appreciate your support.

So, from our featured dogs – Donny, Topper, Ted, Dusty and Yogi & Dinah as well as all our other furry inmates …. ‘So long, but not goodbye’ ♥️
