Dom is scheduled to arrive at JFD at approximately 11am (although we are aware his schedule could alter over time). To coincide with his visit we are hosting an Open House Coffee Morning to welcome him to JFD.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Tour De Rescue 2019 please read on….
This September dog trainer and best selling author Dominic Hodgson is heading off on his bike to complete a tour of local rescues (Just For Dogs being one of them) starting in Northumberland, moving to Teesside, then the Peak District and finishing in North Wales.
The aim is to shine a light on the fantastic work done by local rescue centres, raise awareness and educate the community about rescue dogs so we can keep more dogs OUT of rescue centres and in their forever homes.
Due to his commitment to helping rescue dogs, Dominic has chosen High Peak Dogs to host the Peak District leg of the Tour and on Wednesday 11th September The day’s adventures end in an educational evening with some of the UK’s best dog trainers – and you are all invited!
The evening event will start promptly at 6:30pm at St Thomas More School, Buxton with the first speaker starting at 7pm. Finish time will be around 8.30-9ish. Tickets for the seminar are £35 per person with all proceeds donated to the 4 rescue centres Dom has visited that day.

We had a blast at Just for Dogs in Brailsford on Sunday 8 September for our Annual Autumn Fun Dog Show!
Everyone was welcome – small, large, noisy, quiet – everyone is welcome! It is always a great opportunity to help raise much needed funds for dogs that we are looking to re-home – plus its always great to welcome so many people and their four-legged friends.
Ian Richardson Photography was also there to get those beautiful pooches Pawtraits!
Dillon from Just for Dogs makes appearance on ITV’s This Morning show!
Meet him and listen to his heartwarming story and how Just For Dogs are hoping to raise £4,000 to pay for life-changing surgery to restore his eyesight ♥️
Huge thanks to Zoe from Posh Paws, Heanor who gave Dillon his once-over beauty treatment yesterday – it wouldn’t do for Dillon to leave behind layers of his magnificent golden copper coat all over ‘that sofa’. Yesterday was the second meeting for these two as Zoe also visited JFD back in February when she provided a full days grooming and bathing FOC for some of our most needy JFD inmates with Dillon being top of the list at that time!
A JustGiving page has been set up in the hope it will help us reach our target of £4,000, every donation no matter how small will be, as always, very much appreciated.
Dillon is such a brave dog who has, up until recently, led such a cruel, brutal and sad life. Now he is safe at the Just For Dogs rescue centre in Derbyshire who want to give him the best chance of happiness – a loving forever home and a chance to see how beautiful the world can be. He is a very loving, gentle and affectionate dog who will make someone a fantastic loyal and faithful friend. Please help us to help Dillon, your kind donation no matter how small will make the world of difference to Dillon. Thank you
Join Just for Dogs at the wonderful Peak Shopping Village for our charity fundraiser day where you can enter your beloved hounds into a range of fun classes. Have fun and help raise money for a brilliant charity supporting the care and re-homing of dogs.

We all had such a great time, the weather was also very kind!
We couldn’t achieve what we do without the support of our friends and volunteers – including the human ones – so thank you to everyone who made it possible and for each one of you for turning up on the day.
Wow! What an amazing day! Huge thanks to everyone who supported our Grand Opening. So lovely to see so many friends old & new, we are truly grateful to have the best followers, supporters, volunteers and fund-raisers EVER!
And what about Charles Hanson? How lucky are Just For Dogs to have such an amazing and supportive patron who didn’t just show up today to fulfill our wishes but oversaw the opening of our brand new rescue centre with such flair and panache that only Charles can carry off! Charles & Rebecca, thank you, we love you!!
